Over the Thanksgiving break we watched Hotel for Dogs. Cooper paid a little attention to it and Max loved to watch all the dogs. So much so that it almost made me feel bad for him like we need to get him a friend or something. But there is no way I feel bad enough to to get another dog.So anyway as we were watching the movie Cooper settled in on Ladds lap and began watching, which in its self is amazing because he doesn’t settle down and well he could really care less about TV.
Toward the end of the show all the dogs are captured by the dog pound and they are taken away and locked up and the girl and her brother who are foster kids are separated. I look over at Ladd and Cooper and Coopers eyes are welling with tears and he begins to whine and slightly cry. At first I thought something was wrong but then you hear him say puppy and point at the TV. He totally knew what was going on. Ladd and I were both in awe that he was comprehending all this. He was so upset and concerned. It made Ladd cry which isn’t hard cause he chocks up pretty easily at sappy moments in movies. Then of course as I am looking at the two of them I tear up cause you can’t help but get tears looking at something so precious. It was honestly the cutest moment.
Ok so I know I haven’t posted pictures of our new house…… but for those of you who have visited us you all know it’s a lot bigger then are old house. So much so that playing hide ‘n’ go seek is a perfect game for the house. Now let me give you a little insight. When I was little playing hide ‘n’ go seek was one of my favorite games. We played it alot especially in the house. When we lived in Hawaii we had these huge rooms with massive closets and you could climb up the little cubby holes and hide in the top of the closets it was the best hiding spot. The house was just full of great hiding places. Then even in Colorado we would play at our house at friends’ houses. I can even remember playing it at the houses I babysat at. One time I let a little boy hide in the dryer by the time they found him he was super sweaty… so note to self the dryer is not I repeat not a good hiding place. Anyway I always loved the game and always always wanted a house big enough to play in.
So now that I have my own big house why not play? The other night my nephews Derek, Christopher, and Anthony were over for a bit and we started up a game of hide ‘n’ go seek. Even Ladd and Cooper played. It was tons of fun there were so many places to hide. The only place off limits was Ladds office too many wires, computers, random antlers, and what not. The game was tons of fun everyone managed to find some great hiding places. This one time I was it and went searching up stairs and honestly couldn’t find anyone then all the sudden I heard this vibrating noise coming from the bathroom closet. Derek had climbed all the way up to the top and was hiding on the shelf, if it had not been for his cell phone I know I would not have found him. Then Anthony he is still small enough that he can squeeze into about anywhere. he was hard to find. Ladd even managed to pull off some pretty good places, and Cooper well he just thought the whole thing was fun. If you weren’t careful when you hid, and he or Max happened to see where you were going well consider yourself caught because they would give you away instantly. The winner of the night was by far Christopher he was never it. He always had the best hiding spaces. His last space was in the top corner of the closet in the upstairs room. It took forever to find him. But eventually with everyones help we were able to find him. We honestly played forever; so long in fact that Cooper was telling us it was time to go to bed so we had to call the game off. The night was so much fun… we will definitely have to plan a repeat!
